The Young Filmmakers Workshop teaches the basics of filmmaking from story idea to finished film. Beginning with a simple story, the students gain hands on experience by planning, storyboarding, filming, and editing their own productions.
The Young Animators Workshop teaches the basics of classical animation. Beginning with a simple story, the students actively participate in creating the look of the characters, then learn to animate them on paper. The students gain hands on experience by storyboarding, animating, filming, and editing their work.
The Young Photographers Workshop offers adolescents (11-16) a workshop experience using 35mm digital cameras to gain hands-on knowledge of the fundamentals of photography such as choosing appropriate lenses, composition, exposure, and lighting. Each workshop will be comprised of exercises and a photo shoots. All students will have the use of a digital 35mm camera while at the workshop.
The Classroom Workshops (grades 5-12) offer filmmaking and animating instruction to students and teachers; providing them with the knowledge and skills to guide students interested in using filmmaking or animating for school projects that support the Ontario curriculum.
